What is your interest in high & low?
I have always been interested in the contrast and contact of high and low – Perry Rhodan read by Dietmar Dath; understanding industrial music by interviewing a fictitious musician; or recently thinking about the allegedly meritocratic culture colliding with right-wing voting behaviour. As to High and Low in digital culture, the easiest and still unanswered question is: Why is there still no algorithm that recommends artifacts that let me acquire taste? Where is the long tail when you need it?
